What Is FIT Strength & Conditioning?
FIT Strength & Conditioning is the Capital Region's premier group strength & conditioning facility.  Our flagship program, Team Metabolic Resistance Training (MRT) is an incredible 45-minute group workout that blends strength training, cardio, mobility & flexibility, and core training to help our clients become stronger, leaner and more fit.  Workouts vary from day to day and our unique, systematic approach to programming allows participants to progressively get stronger, leaner, and move more pain-free.

Carey Winkler - FIT Strength Coach
I have been an athlete all of my life - soccer, basketball, track and field, lacrosse, skiing, snowboarding, wake boarding, mountain biking, you name it and I've competed in it or lived it.  BUT, with all of that, I have to say that I am in the best shape of my adult life because I am a product of FIT Strength & Conditioning.  I am a walking billboard for FIT ... we all are.  When a client comes to my session, I want to show you that no matter where you are in your fitness journey, that consistency and hard work WILL pay off.  If you commit to my classes, then I will commit to being the best trainer (and hopefully role model) I can be for you.  At first you'll notice my enthusiasm and sternness while teaching.  I'm direct and authoritative, but sincere.  I want to slightly intimidate you, but persuade you at the same time.  I get great satisfaction from encouraging someone to get into proper form or better ROM, which allows them to either push a heavier weight or hold a position for longer.  Then, when you put all the elements together - and that "a-HA" moment happens - that's what keeps me excited and keeps me pushing you through your workout!

I'm a mother, a wife, I have a job, and I'm closer to 40 than I am to 30 (wow that's the first time I've written that down!! LOL). I feel like I can relate to many different people at many different places in their journey and the roadblocks that might prevent them from success.  First, I'm a product of FIT Strength.  I came in not in great shape and have completely transformed my life with the exact workouts and community that I now lead clients through.  This has also given me years of experience with the exercises, proper form and technique, and ways to modify for all levels.  Everyone has a story and that story influences their behavior. Not everyone is motivated by the same things.  I believe getting to know them the best that I can allows me to understand them and motivate them.  This also gives me equity with them when I ask them to lift something heavier or try something out of their comfort zone!

I absolutely LOVE working at FIT Strength and Conditioning and go into each and every session very eager and excited to challenge and push the clients beyond their potential. I also make it a point to interact with each person in every single session, whether it be words of encouragement or helping them with their form.  I think what makes me stand out is my degree in Nutrition.  After studying Nutrition for 4 years, it really made me understand how important the way we eat actually is; not only for weight loss, but more importantly for overall health.  Nutrition is so much more than just a balance of calories in versus calories out.  The body needs healthy whole foods to function at its best every single day!  I think I am a great resource for our clients who need guidance or have questions on Nutrition!

There is nobody else more willing to coach a client through a positive lifestyle change, both in the gym and outside of one.  Connections are the key to success in this day in age, and I believe that I am incredibly good at creating them, especially in a one-on-one training scenario.  I think I challenge a lot of traditional views on fitness and a healthy lifestyle and that is one major reason why I stand out.  I think my "wow" factor is the amount of knowledge and experience I can bring to the table in face of my youth.  It's always interesting to see the reactions I get from people when I know how to re-evaluate their basic movements on the spot and it changes the way they feel the entire movement.

I understand what it’s like to press the restart button on a healthy lifestyle.  I want people to know that it’s possible to accomplish anything ... that they can climb the mountain in front of them and that I’m there to help them see what’s on the other side!  I am almost 45 years old, and I am there to let them know that age is just a number.  Making a healthy lifestyle change is better at any age, than never finding a healthy lifestyle at all.  I believe that my constant pursuit of being better at my job will help our clients receive the best instruction possible.  I have a unique ability to encourage someone to keep going, push harder and, at the end, walk away with a sense of accomplishment and a smile on their face.  Letting the client (new or old) know that we all have a starting point, but with commitment and the right support system anything is possible!

My enthusiasm for fitness is both obvious and contagious when I lead a class.  I work to create positive energy in a room because I believe that if you keep a positive attitude, anything is possible!  I may yell out empowering words, turn the music up a little louder, clap or even just jump around.  I am truly dedicated to the success of each one of our clients.  I have been a group exercise instructor for the past 14 years and work with people of all ages and fitness levels.  I have developed the ability to read my class participants and figure out how to motivate and get each of them to work at their optimum level.  Some people need a smile, a word of encouragement, or a look that says, “I know you can work harder - give me all you’ve got!” I project a can-do attitude and my participants know I am in there with them, working hard but having fun at the same time. What Happens After I Register For Trial Membership?
After you register for your trial, you will receive a confirmation email from "[email protected]" with instructions on how to access the private Facebook group.   Within 24 hours, a member of our staff will contact you via email with a username & password so that you can book your sessions online.  The day before you begin, you'll receive an email with information on what to expect.
How Much Does a Membership Cost?
For those who decide to join us once their trial membership comes to an end, we offer memberships that range from $99/month up to $299/month, depending upon the training program someone selects.
I Am a Beginner, Can I Still Do This Program?
YES! ... Our program is designed so that people of ALL fitness levels can experience success, lose weight and feel their best. Our training staff will modify exercises and/or scale the workouts to meet your specific needs.
How Many Days Should I Attend Each Week?
We recommend that you attend a minimum of (3) sessions per week, in addition to following your personal meal plan. For even better results, though, we recommend you workout with us 4X per week or more!
